"It's a String Thing" #3 Tiles

Happy Labor Day!  In the States, the first Monday in September is set aside to honor the  achievements of the American worker.  It is a Federal Holiday and many people enjoy the day off.

We've had some busy tanglers though and the tiles for this week are inspiring!  The challenge was to  tangle the string line with B J Thomas' Snookums and it yielded beautiful results.

Mindy, who submitted "It's a String Thing" #2's Best of Show sent in this pretty tile:

Mindy's Swarm is so delicate and pretty.
She wrote that she worked on several tiles until she felt a "yes".  I loved that comment.
Mindy captured that sense of contentment felt when you hold a tile at arms length and admire what you've created.  And it's such a mixture of delight and surprise, isn't it?  Thank you, Mindy.

Sue Agnew sent a lovely note along with two beautiful tiles. Yes, that would be the Sue Agnew who's string we used this week - how fun is that?!

I really likes the way Sue "tied" off the ends of her Snookums covered string line.  Sue wrote that she likes "neat and tidy" edges and look at the effect it has in her use of the tangled string.  It appears as though the string line was layered over a completed tile - very nice!

And the "Best of Show" for the "It's a String Thing" #3 is...Deanna Spence!

I see something new in this tile every time I look at it. Deanna chose patterns with a nice balance between light and dark, round and angled, curved and straight.   Congratulations to you, Deanna!

Deanna also honored us with "Best of Show" from "It's a String Thing" #1.  Now I have two special somethings coming in the mail to you!

Check back tomorrow for the details on "It's a String Thing" #4 !
